Mats, proofs, bundles, and portraits

Noah Bradley

Y'all surviving winter? I... struggle with winter. I try to enjoy it, but the simple fact is that I love getting outside and walking around without my face hurting cause it's cold. And it's not even that cold here. I think I'm just a wimp sometimes.

Anyway, I've been staying inside and staying busy!

I launched some new gaming/work desk mats today. They're way bigger than I thought they'd be (36x18", so waaaay bigger than the usual 24x14" playmats I sell). But I'm extremely pleased with the quality of them. They seem very well made and I think they look great.

You'll get 10% off for the rest of this weekend when you add 'em to your cart. No pressure, but if you feel the urge to spruce up your desk, these might be the ticket.

I launched a couple new bundles of reference pictures. There aren't any new packs in here, but if you've been meaning to buy a bunch of reference or just haven't gotten around to picking up any of our new stuff, this is a pretty great opportunity to do that.

My days of painting for Magic: The Gathering are a thing of the past, but I'm still somewhat connected to the game--and I suspect always will be. I still sell my artist proofs of the many cards I painted and sometimes I get to do drawings & paintings on them.

I have a real blast doing these little paintings. The size restriction is a fun challenge in itself.

I'm guessing somebody shared the link around some other collectors this past week, because I'm once again swamped with these. But it's a problem I enjoy having.

I didn't really mean to paint more portraits. But after narrating the portrait demo for Paint Figures Better, I discovered that I had talked too much. I didn't want to cut the material down, so instead I set about painting some new portraits and recording the process. I'm very pleased with how they all turned out.

But if it makes you feel better about struggling with portraits, I'll just mention that I started two other portraits and abandoned each of them after about an hour. They were just not going well at all. Sometimes scrapping a piece is the best remedy.

That's about all for me. Oh, we're headed on one of our long trips! We're going over to Egypt, Jordan, and Turkey. If you have any recommendations for things to do or places to see, I'd always love to hear.
